What affects the price?

Image quality
Choose from 5 quality levels, from low to maximum. Higher quality uses more credits, as shown in the table.
Output resolution
Choose 1K / 2K / 4K. Larger outputs use more credits at the same quality.
Reference images
Adding a reference switches to editing. The first is included in the edit rate; each additional reference costs 3 credits.
Composition planning
The complexity setting controls how the model plans the composition. It does not change the credit price.

Questions about pricing

Am I charged for a failed generation?

Credits deducted for a failed GPT Image 2.6 generation are automatically returned to your balance.

Do Flare and Sunburst cost the same?

Yes. With the same quality, resolution and reference count, Flare and Sunburst use exactly the same credits.

How many images can I make with the free credits?

Signup gives you 30 free credits. At 15 credits per medium-quality 1K text-to-image generation, that covers 2 default images. Editing or higher settings use more credits.

Do credits expire?

Subscription credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over. Credits purchased through the one-time pay-as-you-go option never expire.

Can I request a refund?

Purchase refunds follow the eligibility and conditions on our Refund page. Automatic credit returns for failed generations are separate. Read the refund policy

Can I use the images commercially?

You may use outputs in commercial projects subject to our Terms, applicable laws and third-party rights. You are responsible for the rights to your inputs and for checking the result. Read the terms
